Thursday 09 July 2020

Hey everyone

We hope you’ve had a great week. And, we hope you have a happy and healthy weekend, too – fingers crossed for a bit of sunshine!

Thanks to everyone who has been in touch this week – we really do love hearing how you’re doing.

Here’s your learning for today. As always, if you have any questions contact your class teacher.

Y5 Maths

Log on to TT Rockstars and test your multiplication skills.

Your learning for today is about multiplying decimals by 10, 100 and 1000.

Y6 Maths

Here are the answers to yesterday’s questions.

Your final challenge of the week is to take on all four levels of The Swamp of Statistics on Guardians: Defenders of Mathematica.

Y5,6 Reading

If you’ve been in my class, you know how much I love a good debate. I think it helps us engage with the world around us, articulate our thoughts and is a really valuable life skill. Also, to gain information, we often have to use our reading skills. Today, I’d like you to read this information and form your own opinion – you could even debate it with someone else.

Then, I’d like you to create a short poster or presentation (or anything else you can think of) to put forward your viewpoint.

Y5,6 Topic

We are going to familiarise ourselves further on one of our protective characteristics with this black lives matter lesson. This is a large global movement supporting the lives of black people.

Why are we doing this?

In Scholes (Elmet) Primary School, we know that racism is never ok and is not tolerated. Black lives matter supports our values, and it is important we are aware with current issues around the world. Complete this video lesson.
