Scholes (Elmet) Primary is a ‘one and a half form entry’ school. This means we take up to 45 pupils each year. Classes are limited to a maximum of 30 children in Reception, Year 1 and 2 (like all schools), and classes in Years 3 to 6 are usually around this size, too.

Our topic this half term has had an art focus. We are reading The Enchanted Wood by Enid Blyton and the children have become fascinated with trees. We observed them closely on our walk around Scholes and learnt some tips on how to draw them. This week, we have been learning about how to give pictures texture and made our own tree collages.
