Scholes (Elmet) Primary is a ‘one and a half form entry’ school. This means we take up to 45 pupils each year. Classes are limited to a maximum of 30 children in Reception, Year 1 and 2 (like all schools), and classes in Years 3 to 6 are usually around this size, too.

All the year 1 and 2 classes did some science last week. We focused on making sensible predictions. We talked about our senses and then used our sense of smell, predicting what we thought was hidden in a selection of boxes.
I thought it was shampoo but it was soap!
I knew it was an orange straight away. I’ve smelt them before.
