We started our week by welcoming some new friends to Green Group for a stay-and-play session with their grown-ups. They had great fun exploring the Nursery, and we enjoyed finding out where they liked to play.

We’ve been keeping a close eye on our caterpillars as they have been growing bigger and bigger. When we looked through a magnifying glass, we noticed “a web” in the pot and wondered what it could be.

” It looks like there’s a spider in there”
” I can see one”
We used our fiddly fingers to thread some small beads to make some caterpillars. It was quite difficult but it will help to strengthen our fingers for holding a pen.

In Maths, we told our own number stories.
First, there were five frogs on a log.
Next, two frogs jumped into the pond.
Then, there were three frogs left on the log.
We found the numeral 3 to match the number of frogs still on the log

We are still enjoying the story of ” The Very Hungry Caterpillar” We printed our own caterpillars using green and red paint.

What a busy weeks it’s been.
Reminders
Please remember that if you would like your child’s sun cream to be applied after lunch, it should be placed in their group basket in the morning. The sun cream must be clearly labelled—please check each day that the name is still visible.
