National Healthy Schools Status
Many schools have this award; it demonstrates the work which we do in four areas of health: physical activity, emotional health, healthy eating and PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education).
Stephen Lawrence Award
The Stephen Lawrence Standard promotes race equality. We’re proud to have been awarded Level 3 of the standard, the highest level, in 2012. Children at Scholes (Elmet) are positive about how we’re all different and yet all the same. We are committed to continuing to promote positive attitudes to all ethnicities – this is very apparent throughout the school.
Active Mark
This recognises the significant time we all dedicate to physical activity at Scholes (Elmet) Primary to ensure our children are healthy. There’s a strong link between healthy bodies and healthy learners so we’re very proud to have received this recognition.
Leadership Development School
NPQH (National Professional Qualification for Headship) Leadership Development School status is awarded by the National College for School Leadership. It recognises schools with proven, strong leadership. The status means we can support school leaders of the future.
Active Schools
Like many schools in Leeds, we subscribe to the Leeds Active Schools Partnership, which entitles us to access lots of sporting events for children and training for staff. This is one way in which we invest the dedicated PE and sport funding.
School Games Mark
We are proud to be awarded the School Games Mark recognising our commitment, engagement and delivery of competitive school sport. We currently have Silver, and are aiming for Gold!
