PE and sport premium
The PE and sport premium is additional funding to improve provision of physical education and sport in primary schools. This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in school. At Scholes (Elmet) Primary, we pride ourselves on being a happy and healthy place to learn. We’ve developed an action plan to ensure this funding is invested (rather than ‘spent’) to maximise the long term impact of our PE provision for pupils and staff.
Our PE provision plans show how we’re investing the money and the way we closely monitor the impact of these initiatives through assessment of children’s skills, staff and pupil feedback, uptake of clubs etc.
If you would like any further information please contact Mrs Latham, PE Leader.
Some of the children’s comments following the Y4 residential, part-funded by the PE and sport funding:
“I discovered people like [another pupil in the class] who are quite shy can really be loud and confident. I also discovered that I didn’t need my mum to get my clothes out anymore or help me do my bed.”
“My proudest achievement was the assault course because I managed to do everything.”
“I figured out that working together was a lot more fun. I discovered that I can cope without my family. I noticed that [another pupil] is really resilient because he had a go at every challenge and, no matter what, he kept on going.”
