Week Two – The Train Ride

Friday 12 June 2026

We have continued to enjoy this story this week thinking about the rhyming words that we hear.

Focus Book

The Train Ride by June Crebbin

We have been on our own journey’s by building our own trains from the crates and bricks. We made tickets for the journey too.

Our ramps became more complex this week and much longer. The children enjoyed finding out how far their cars could go.

Our cars and trucks got really muddy so the water tray became a car wash.

Children loved using the remote controlled cars this week and were able to move them backwards and forwards between the obstacles. It was lots of fun!

We talked about the differences between the seaside and the country side in the small world area.

Next week’s learning

We will be thinking about under the sea with another rhyming book.
