Living and learning

Monday 05 October 2026

Our living and learning statement has been about respecting others. We linked this to our knowledge of the protected characteristics.

There are nine protected characteristics under the Equality Act:

    1. Age
    2. Disability
    3. Gender reassignment
    4. Marriage and civil partnership
    5. Pregnancy and maternity
    6. Race
    7. Religion or belief
    8. Sex
    9. Sexual orientation

We use the DR GRAMPSS acronym to remember these characteristics. Our class discussions focused  on respectful relationships, helping us to  understand the importance of respect and tolerance.
