Scholes (Elmet) Primary is a ‘one and a half form entry’ school. This means we take up to 45 pupils each year. Classes are limited to a maximum of 30 children in Reception, Year 1 and 2 (like all schools), and classes in Years 3 to 6 are usually around this size, too.

For the past few weeks, Year 1 have been learning how to compose numbers. Last week, we focussed on making 6 and 7. This week we are focussing on 8 and 9. We have been using Numicon, our fingers and rek n reks to compose our numbers.
Help at home by composing numbers using household objects. Oranges and apples work well!
