Never Forget

Posted on Friday 10 July 2020 by Miss Hague

We’re nearly at the end of this crazy year.

It’s been a long time but we’re not too sure where we’ve been.

We’ve had good times …

Do you know what?  I’ll let Take That say the rest.

Thank you to everyone at home and in school who took part and submitted results. Over 200 schools across West Yorkshire took part and we did really well – netball being our particular strength!

Learning, learning, learning

We have had some lovely emails recently.

The body parts pictures were brilliant and certainly put a smile on our faces!

There is also a video below of some super reading : Funnybones reading

Returning school library books and other reading books

Posted on Wednesday 24 June 2020 by Mrs Latham

We are wanting to collect any school books that children have at home. If you have any library books or reading books from the reading scheme at home, we would like them back so we can sort and audit them over the summer.
On sunny days, there will be a basket/box outside the office door for them to be placed in. On rainy days the box will be just through the door.
We’ll then move the books in and leave them for 72 hours before touching them.
Thank you!

Home learning help

Posted on Friday 12 June 2020 by Mrs Latham

The teachers at school have been talking to some families who are continuing to learn from home this week. There was a common topic of conversation : this is all dragging on and becoming quite tricky at times!

It has been a long time since we have all been back at school with our classes and we understand that home learning is challenging. Here are a few links that might help if you are wanting more activities to engage your child.

This is great for working on all number facts and you can try to improve your own score. We use this in school on iPads but can also be played on laptops : https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button

Passwords for Numbots or Times Table Rockstars are the same : https://play.numbots.com/#/intro or https://ttrockstars.com/ Email your teacher if you have lost it.

Loads of resources on here including reading : https://www.twinkl.co.uk/resources/parents

For reading and phonics games : https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/

Maths teaching videos and other resources : https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/

Variety of lessons, recorded by teachers : https://classroom.thenational.academy/

We love Go Noodle for a sing and dance : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2YBT7HYqCbbvzu3kKZ3wnw

Or Cosmic Yoga Kids for a more relaxing workout : https://www.youtube.com/user/CosmicKidsYoga

Please ring school or email your child’s teacher if you need support and we will try to help.

Monstrous art work

Posted on Thursday 11 June 2020 by Mrs Latham

The Colour Monster story has been very popular this week. We have thought about our emotions and discussed how many emotions we have been feeling over the last few months. It is a difficult time, so doubly important to talk about your feelings and try to find things to do that make you happy.
