Posted on Monday 20 April 2020 by Mrs Latham

The BBC Bitesize Daily lessons and resources are also excellent. You can watch them on your tv, tablet or laptop.  There is the menu below. We also use White Rose to aid our maths planning in school and they have lots of resources too https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/.

Art Attack

Posted on Wednesday 15 April 2020 by Mrs Latham

Art is a great way to relax and pass the time. One of the Year 2 children has really been enjoying drawing so he decided to do his own version of an Art Attack.

He has watched lots of videos on YouTube which explained how to draw cartoon characters and 3D objects. He then drew his own creations.

He has enjoyed making the pictures colourful and then selected his favourites for the poster below. Super!

Dancing with ‘Hello HipHop’

Posted on Wednesday 15 April 2020 by Mrs Latham

Some classes have had a few sessions delivered by Phil from Hello HipHop recently. We also had them booked in to deliver sessions for the whole school during Health Week. We will have to reschedule the sessions for the future but in the meantime, here are some hip hop moves for you to work on. Enjoy!

Keeping your memory fit!

Posted on Monday 06 April 2020 by Mrs Latham

As well as keeping your body active, it is a good idea to keep your brain active too. Using your memory is a good way to do this. Memorising a poem, song or short story is an easy, fun way to do this at home. It was one of our home learning tasks recently. Here is a poetry performance in the sunshine.

WUSU – Shout Out To My Ex

Posted on Friday 03 April 2020 by Mrs Latham

Miss Parling and I did a video chat earlier and we danced to one our favourite WUSU songs. The audio is not the best but we hope you still join in and enjoy it !

Let’s rock!

Posted on Friday 03 April 2020 by Mrs Latham

We are loving hearing about all the amazing things you’re doing at home.  Doing some art, dance, cooking, gardening and music all help us to feel a bit better at this tricky time. This put a huge smile on my face this morning – a great song! ‘Song 2’ by Blur : singing and drums by one of our Year 2 children accompanied by his dad on guitar. Amazing!

Learning life skills and learning at home

Posted on Wednesday 01 April 2020 by Mrs Latham

As well as the home learning we are posting on the website, you might have the opportunity to do some cooking together. It is a chance to read a recipe, develop cutting/chopping skills, watch for reversible and irreversible changes in food and enjoy eating the outcome together! Keep sending photos of what you are up to at home.

Lots of people have starting displaying decorated rainbows and love hearts in their windows too. They are trying to cheer each other up, from a distance. You could join in with this too.

Lots of people have said they’re enjoying the home learning tasks too.

Wake Up Shake Up (WUSU) playlist

Posted on Wednesday 01 April 2020 by Mrs Latham

A few children seem to be missing our daily WUSU sessions. We have had a lot of email requests for videos that children can dance along to (there is one already on the Year 1 & 2 Class News page). Here is the playlist if you would like to dance along to your favourites. There are more videos in the pipeline…watch this space!

1K home learning

Posted on Wednesday 01 April 2020 by Miss Hague

It has been great to see and hear what amazing home learning has been going on so far this week. If you haven’t been in touch yet please do. I have really enjoyed your emails so far.

Writing cards and letters to those we cannot visit at the moment is a great way to stay connected.

Lots of you are keeping active both mentally and physically. Getting outdoors is a good way to feel relax and calm. Try close your eyes and find out how many different sounds you can hear.
